1. Rules

This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing in effect at the time of the regatta, the rules of the International Sonar Class Association, this Notice of Race, except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions, and by the Sailing Instructions.

2. Eligibility and Entry

The regatta is open to Sonar Class yachts. Skippers must be current members of the Sonar Class Association and complete the regatta entry form and sign the regatta release form.

3. Schedule of Events

September 13 and 14 - 1000 - Warning signal for the first race of the day, subsequent races to follow. No warning signal will be made after 1500, Sunday, September 14, 2003. We intend to run as many races as possible.

4. Advance Registration

Yachts may register in advance by submitting the entry form and the appropriate fee to the registrar. Mail registration to the address listed on the registration form. The entry form will be available from the Eastern Yacht Club website (easternyc.org) and the Fleet 14 website (www.marblehead.com/harbor/sonar) after July 1, 2003.

5. Fees

The fee for early registration, received by September 1, 2003 shall be TBD for members of USSAILING or TBD for non- USSA members. The fee for late registration, received after September 1, 2003 shall be TBD.

6. Measurement

Measurement is not required but each yacht shall be able to submit a valid measurement certificate if requested. The jury reserves the right to inspect any boat at any time during the event.

7. Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration as well as on the Fleet 14 web site after September 1, 2003.

8. Venue

Regatta headquarters will be at the Eastern Yacht Club. The racing area will be in the waters of Massachusetts Bay off of Marblehead.

9. Races and Courses

We will sail as many races as conditions permit. One race shall constitute a regatta. There is no minimum course length. Courses will be windward-leeward.

10. Scoring

The Low-Point Scoring System (Appendix A2 of the Racing Rules of Sailing) will apply. There will be no throw-out unless five or more races are completed.

11. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the skippers and crews placing first through fifth.

12. Launching and Haul-Out Restrictions

There are no haulout restrictions. Moorings will be available through the EYC.

Directions to the EYC and other information are available via the EYC web site at www.easternyc.org or by calling the director.

The regatta co-chairs will attempt to locate housing for any participants who would like to be housed with local fleet members.
